What is Limina?
Limina is a consciousness development app for tracking dreams, astral/OBE experiences, and meditation sessions. It combines structured journaling with AI-powered pattern recognition, real cosmic data (moon phases, Mayan calendar, astrological transits), and a curated research library from leading consciousness researchers.
How do I get started?
Go to app.liminaapp.com and create a free account. You can start logging entries right away. The app has three tracks you can toggle on or off: Dreams, Astral/OBE, and Meditation. You can use one, two, or all three depending on your practice.
What are the three tracks?
Dreams covers dream journaling, lucid dreaming, symbols, and recurring patterns. Astral/OBE tracks out-of-body experiences and astral environments. Meditation logs sessions, phenomena, and depth tracking. Each track has its own log, pattern analysis, and reference library. You can toggle tracks on or off from the sidebar.
What is the Higher Self Portal?
The Higher Self Portal is a reflective space inside Limina that provides 40 wisdom transmissions across consciousness themes. Think of it as a contemplative companion for your practice. Access it from the Home section of the sidebar or the Portal orb in the mobile navigation bar.
How does voice transcription work?
Limina uses your device’s built-in speech recognition (Web Speech API) so you can dictate entries hands-free. Tap the microphone icon in any entry form to start speaking. Your speech is converted to text in real time without sending audio to any external server. This works best in Chrome and Safari.
What cosmic data is included?
Limina tracks three real-time cosmic systems: Moon phases (current phase, illumination, and correlation with your entries), Mayan Tzolkin calendar (daily kin, tone, and glyph), and Astrological transits (planetary positions and significant aspects). This data appears on your dashboard and is correlated with your entries to reveal patterns.
What is the AI Intelligence engine?
The Intelligence engine (available on the Oneironaut plan) automatically enriches your entries with pattern detection, symbol analysis, and cross-entry connections. It identifies recurring themes, suggests experiment ideas, and helps you see patterns that would be hard to spot manually across dozens or hundreds of entries.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Limina supports full data export in both JSON and CSV formats. You’ll find the export buttons in the sidebar on desktop, or in the settings area on mobile. Your data belongs to you, and you can take it with you at any time.
What is the Research Library?
The Research Library is a curated collection of 28 researchers, 15 books, and 9 organizations in the fields of lucid dreaming, astral projection, meditation, and consciousness studies. It includes people like Stephen LaBerge, Robert Monroe, and Shinzen Young, along with key works and institutions. Useful for going deeper into any track.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. Entries are stored locally on your device by default. If you enable cloud sync, your data is encrypted and stored in a secure Supabase database with row-level security. Only your authenticated account can access your entries. We cannot read your journal entries, and we never sell or share your data.
How does cloud sync work?
When you create an account and sign in, your entries sync automatically to the cloud so they’re available across your devices. The sync uses Supabase with row-level security, meaning the database enforces that each user can only access their own data. If you prefer fully local storage, you can use the app without creating an account.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete individual entries from within the app at any time. If you want to delete your entire account and all associated cloud data, contact us at support@liminaapp.com and we will process it within 48 hours.
What’s the difference between free and paid?
The Explorer plan (free) gives you unlimited journaling across all three tracks, the full research library, cosmic data, and data export. The Oneironaut plan ($10/month) adds AI-powered intelligence: automatic pattern recognition, cross-entry analysis, symbol enrichment, experiment suggestions, and deeper insights that evolve as your practice grows.
Is there a lifetime pricing option?
Yes. During the launch window, lifetime access to Limina Oneironaut is available for $199. Annual pricing is also available at $99/year. Once the launch window closes, these prices may change.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. You’ll keep access through the end of your billing period. Your entries and data remain yours regardless of your subscription status.
Does Limina work offline?
Yes. Limina is a progressive web app (PWA) that works offline once loaded. You can log entries without an internet connection and they’ll sync when you reconnect. On mobile, you can add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.
What browsers are supported?
Limina works on all modern browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. For the best experience with voice transcription, Chrome or Safari is recommended. The app is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Is there a mobile app?
Limina is currently a web app you can access from any device. Native iOS and Android apps are in development. In the meantime, you can install Limina as a PWA on your phone: open it in your mobile browser, then tap “Add to Home Screen.” It will look and behave like a native app.
The voice transcription isn’t working. What should I do?
Voice transcription uses your browser’s built-in speech recognition. Make sure you’ve granted microphone permissions in your browser settings. If it still isn’t working, try Chrome or Safari, which have the best Web Speech API support. Firefox has limited speech recognition support on some platforms.
